Every year Nevada schools like to take a week to really celebrate the joys of reading. This year Nevada Reading Week is superhero themed, and Reedom staff and students will be engaging in extracurricular reading activities that go beyond what is typically experienced within a regular school day, such as guest readers, class competitions, read-a-thons, etc. Along with our fun reading activities, we will have dress-up days for each day of Nevada Reading Week. The following spirit days add to the fun and excitement of the week:

Monday: Dress Like a Superhero Day

(We are diving right into our theme with superheroes. He/She can be from Marvel, DC, Star Wars, or even make up your own. “Super Librarian” may be making an appearance this day!)

Tuesday: Dress Like a Book Character Day

(Here’s a chance to live your dream of being one of your favorite book characters for a day!)

Wednesday: Dress Like a Villain Day

(Where would our superheroes be without those villains to push and challenge them? Today you can dress up like any book, movie, or comic villain that sparks your fury!)

Thursday: Wear Your Pajamas Day

(Every superhero needs some time to relax and regroup. Stay comfy cozy today with your favorite PJ’s. Extra credit if they are superhero themed!)

Friday: Wear a Cape Day

(It’s hard to deny it; capes are pretty cool! Here’s a chance to flaunt your favorite superhero cape, or design and wear a cape of your own! If you were a superhero, what would your cape look like?)

We are excited to see the students all powered up for reading, and we appreciate your support in making our Nevada Reading Week a memorable one!
